Riwalsar,Dhaba as in 5.14.65. Showing the Nandi’s legs
A view of Riwalsar. It is a place of pilgrimage for Sikhs, Hindus and most of all Buddhists. In this photo the Gurdwara is seen the far side of the lake, Ladakhi/Zanskari gompa nearby, the Hindu temple in the foreground and gompa frequented by Khampas and others in the right hand corner. Some Zanskaris, Lahaulis and Buddhists from Manali area spend winters here. It is less cold, vegetables are cheaper and there is a peaceful congenial atmosphere.

Looking up Kullu Valley from below Kaknal. Rice terraces.
Rice terraces below Kaknal. Its autumn, left hand of photo there are piles of manure that have been carried by ‘kilta’ load to be ploughed in before the winter.
Bellow Kaknal. Temporary dwellings for people while working at their rice terraces, as their village might be a distance away.
